How it works
Honest about what is Scripture and what is not
Bible Alignment exists to help you understand Scripture in its context, examine your own life honestly, and act on what you learn. That only works if you can always tell which part is the Bible and which part is us.
The same path, every time
- Step 1
Read
Scripture, in its own words
- Step 2
Understand
Who wrote it, to whom, and why
- Step 3
Connect
The people, places and ideas in it
- Step 4
Reflect
Honest questions, no verdicts
- Step 5
Align
Belief, choices, action
- Step 6

Our commitments
Scripture is distinct from our commentary
Every quotation is the King James Version, public domain, quoted exactly and shown in its own bordered block with its reference. Context, meaning, lenses, reflection prompts and practices are editorial material written for this app. They are labelled as such everywhere they appear, and they are never presented as Scripture.
Nothing here is AI-generated Scripture — or AI-generated anything, yet
The study library is written by hand, and “Ask about this” answers only from what is already written for that passage, the people and places named in it, and the book's background. No AI service is connected in this build, and the panel says so. If AI-assisted explanation is added later, it will sit behind the same service boundary, stay grounded in the selected passage and its verified context, carry sources, be visibly marked as generated — and never produce Bible text.
Which Bible text you are reading, and why
The full text is the King James Version, which is in the public domain in the United States. It is served from this app itself; no third-party Bible site is called and nothing is scraped. Modern translations such as the NIV, ESV and NKJV are under copyright and are not included — they can only be added with a real licence. The reading and study layers are built so a licensed translation can be plugged in without changing anything you see.
Written studies and general orientation are different things
Some passages have a study written for them: context, meaning, lenses, reflection, alignment and a practice. Any other chapter still opens the same flow, but with book-level background and open questions instead — and it tells you plainly that no verse-level study exists yet. We would rather show you less than invent more.
Context matters, and uncertainty stays visible
Each passage states who wrote it (and how confident that attribution is), who received it, its literary setting, the argument around it, and its historical background. Where scholars or Christian traditions genuinely disagree, we say so instead of pretending certainty.
Psychology and neuroscience are supplemental
Where modern research genuinely illuminates human behaviour, we include it — clearly marked as modern evidence. It is never used to prove a theological claim, and it is never a diagnosis. A lens is only shown when it actually helps; we do not force a psychological reading onto every passage.
Symbolic and personal readings are labelled as reflection
In the Know the Bible layer we keep four meaning layers apart. 'Biblical meaning' describes what the text and its historical context support. The 'symbolic lens' and 'personal reflection' are reflective readings — useful ways of thinking with the material — and we never claim they were necessarily the original author's meaning. 'Practice' is simply something realistic to do.
A memory trail, not a scoreboard
When you return to a person, place or idea you have opened before, we show you what you met last time. The purpose is cumulative understanding. There are no points, streaks, levels or spiritual measurements anywhere in this app.
Alignment is not a score
Alignment means coherence between what you understand, what you believe, what you choose and what you do. There is no streak, no rating, and no measure of your standing before God anywhere in this app.
This is a companion, not a replacement
Bible Alignment does not replace the Bible itself, your church, your pastor, a counsellor, a doctor, or the people who know you. Please verify important interpretations against the biblical text and trusted sources, and take significant decisions to people who can actually see your life.
What this app will never do
- Tell you that God has commanded a specific personal decision
- Claim supernatural certainty about your circumstances
- Diagnose a mental-health condition
- Shame you, or use fear to motivate you
- Promise wealth or guaranteed outcomes
- Attack another Christian tradition
About the biblical text
This version ships only public-domain Scripture (King James Version, 1611/1769). Quotations are exact; we never paraphrase a passage and present it as the text, and we never reproduce a copyrighted translation. The content layer is translation-agnostic, so a licensed modern translation can be added through a provider without changing how any of this is presented.
Note that KJV English has shifted in meaning over four centuries — “take no thought” and “be careful for nothing” both meant “do not be anxious”. Where that matters, we say so in the context section.
If you are struggling
If you are in crisis, or if anxiety, grief or despair are affecting your health, please contact a qualified professional or your local emergency service. Scripture and a thoughtful practice are good things; they are not medical or psychological care.
